Thank You Gifts for Clients: Summer Essentials Kit

I hate being surprised. I guess I should clarify that: I hate the build up, the anticipation, the suspense of a surprise. I don’t like not knowing what I’m about to open, or where I’m going. Don’t even try to blindfold me.

The kind of surprises I do like? Mail! Packages! I love getting packages in the mail.

And that’s why I decided to mail out some surprise thank you gifts to clients and friends. I thought long and hard about what I should send — the words I used while brainstorming this idea were: fun, summer, me. I wanted to tell my story and send something that reflected my personality; something unique; something others could try. I wanted to support small and local businesses and help spread the word about awesome products and people.

Some things that you may or may not know about me:

  • I don’t drink hot coffee. Just iced. So, if you ask me to get you a coffee, I will follow-up with the question, “hot or cold?” Don’t look at me weird when I do.
  • I love love love Mexican food.
  • Chipped nail polish bothers me, so I usually freshen my manicures weekly.

Based on this, I sought out some products that:

  • Others might not know about
  • Others would enjoy
  • Supported small businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Were fun!

And that’s how I came up with my FAVORITE SUMMER ESSENTIALS KIT.

1. Scratch Nail Wraps

Scratch is an awesome nail wrap company started by Chelsea Kent, a talented designer, front-end developer, and entrepreneur extraordinaire, that focuses on creating amazing art for nails, using wraps as a new medium to spread artists’ work.

These watermelon wraps were part of the Burkatron collection, and as soon as I saw them, I knew I had to have them. Watermelons = summer, it was perfect. What’s different about Scratch is that every design is a limited edition design – so once they sell out, they’re gone for good! I stocked up on these when I bought a bunch for these client gifts, and I rocked these tips on my nails during an engagement session. Grab some for yourself before it’s too late.

2. The Mason Bar Company

I found The Mason Bar Company on Instagram while browsing through other posts and loved the idea of turning the mason jar into a tumbler. Most of my glasses at my home are mason jars, but we use them without lids. I love drinking iced coffee & fruit infused water out of my mason jar tumbler – the perfect refreshing drink on a hot, summer day. You can order one for yourself if you’d like here.

3. Lloyd’s Rocket Sauce

The last item in the summer kit is a bottle of Lloyd’s rocket sauce, made locally here in Buffalo. I’m a huge fan of Lloyd’s tacos — we get them every Wednesday at work, and am pretty obsessed with this sauce. So much so that I purchased a case (12 bottles) just for me so I’d always have it available. I put rocket sauce on pretty much everything. And so far, I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about it :) I’m not sure what I’ll do when we move away from Buffalo in a couple years… I’ll have to work out some kind of shipping agreement with the dudes to get me my fix ;)

I loved seeing the “unboxing” of the gifts and everyone enjoying them on Instagram & Facebook.

And there you have it! My summer essentials kit for my fantastic clients and friends. You are the reason I’m able to do what I do, and for that I’m grateful.
