My 2012 Top Design Picks for Holiday Cards
I said it as I sulked around in my pajamas on the couch Sunday afternoon. Brandon had just woken up from a short nap after covering a 24-hour shift.
I’m cancelling the Abbott holiday photo card this year.
Yes, it was indeed as dramatic as it sounds. But I had no other choice; hints were dropped left and right, and my constant
reminders nagging got us nowhere :)
No, we’re not. The resident that covered for me is expecting my Christmas card this year!
By the way, this is a true story, Internet.
I mean, really… this is why I keep him around :)
We took our photos on the first snowfall of the year in Buffalo. It was cold and Moose didn’t pay attention whatsoever, but we got a shot that we were happy with. After regaining feeling in our fingers, we made our way back home and warmed up with some coffee.
I ordered our cards from Minted again this year. I have always loved the print/paper quality of the cards, they have great designers, and I had a few credits saved up from last year. It is a little more expensive than some people would care to spend (after adding in postage), but there is usually a 15-20% off code floating around if you do a quick search online.
Here are a few of my favorites for 2012. While putting this collage together, I realized that I chose designs with calligraphy, dots, and stripes — all things I’ve been obsessing over lately. If you hover over the target icon on each card, you can click through to the source link.
Once our cards have been addressed and mailed, I’ll share the final card and a few outtakes. Happy card shopping!
By the way, if you decide to order through Minted, use this link to receive $25 off your first order. For every order placed with my referral code, I get a $25 credit to use towards anything on the site. This is my third year ordering Minted cards and I have yet to be disappointed.
